What to say, what to say…I don’t have too many thoughts to offer right now. The band is currently hibernating for the winter, as we reflect upon the broken mirror that was 2017. This year we: released a new album in May which I’m very proud of, released a new EP in October (which is free, by the way), performed at some really great venues, got interviewed on the radio, and had other really great experiences along the way.
There are also many new songs in the works…it’s a lot to look forward to. For anyone that actually does read this, just know that I appreciate you. Even if you’ve only heard one song by us, that still means so much. The music really is just for me at the end of the day because I don’t know what else I’d be doing. Sal feels the same way, too. The fact that people actually listened to our album means a whole lot, so thank you.
This band remains to be a really positive source of energy for me, and I’m excited that eventually we’ll be working on our third record. It’s going to be a great one, I can already tell just by listening to some of the demos. It’s just a very neurotic time of year and overwhelming when you’ve got a lot on your plate that you’d like to get to. But artists need to push past that feeling and just get to work. I see too many people around me putt things off and never accomplish what they set out to do. Creation is the goal. Fun is the process.
However, I’ll be honest and say that I’ll be working on/releasing a new solo album before Cloud Tapes LP3. It’s just something that I have to do. But this just means that I intend on Cloud Tapes playing more shows in 2018. Perhaps we’ll release a new song or two here and there as a single. Who knows.
For now, have a safe and happy winter. We’ll see you in 2018. Happy holidays!
