My room is a mess. It’s one of the many things I’ve neglected while working on my solo album. This band has once again been very dormant, but it’s been beyond our control (me and Sal).
A week ago today, I released a new solo album ‘Trapeze Smile.’ It’s been a really special week, hearing from people that I know (and don’t know) saying that they like it. I’m not used to that. If you’re interested, you can listen to it on https://johnsamaras.bandcamp.com/album/trapeze-smile. Or just google it. It’s on Spotify and iTunes.
Anyways, we haven’t had a drummer now for nearly as long as we DID have a drummer. Though we haven’t completely gone silent. We worked hard to put out a single a month and have released 4 singles since our last EP. We’ll soon be releasing all our back catalogue material on Spotify for streaming.
But it’s come time to start the search once again and start making moves on our next full length album. The material has piled up. We are only going to share something if we really believe in it. We are proud of the first two records, but we know it’s time to move on to the next step sonically. I’m personally ready for somewhat of a change and evolution. I’m hoping other people are, too.
Again, no one reads these posts so I feel at liberty to just empty out the echo-chamber that is my brain. All that has been on my mind throughout 2018 and 2019 was my solo album. Now that it’s done, it’s time to get back to work on the band.
The universe has a twisted sense of humor. Much like our predicament at the beginning of this band, we find ourselves with a similar aspiration: If only we had a drummer.
New music soon. Hopefully sooner than we think, and later than you all think.
